A tool for the continuous assessment and improvement of the student's skills in a mathematics course

A system for the continuous assessment of the student's skills in a mathematics course is presented. Its main features are communication through the internet and use of a computer algebra system (Mathematica) to achieve a high degree of interactivity. The assessment is made through a personal exercise book generated by the system for each student at the beginning of the course. The present use of the system in academic activities at the Universitat de Girona and some further possibilities of development and use are commented upon.
