Implementing a modelling analogy in a teaching sequence on electric circuits
Karine Robinault1
(2007)

This paper presents a case study analysing the use of a modelling analogy for teaching-learning of phenomena relating to electric circuits. The teaching sequence elaborated, for grade 7, is based on research results integrating some results on analogies and modelling activities. All teaching materials have been co-elaborated with teachers and tested in their classes. The sample analysed consists of video of classroom activities and questionnaires concerning feedback on the sequences. The results concern both teachers (how did they use the sequence) and students (did these sequences really help students to understand phenomena). This presentation aims to analyse the design process in relation to the results obtained concerning teaching and learning activities.
