Représentations et construction des connaissances sur support électronique : l'apprentissage du français langue seconde par les forums de discussions électroniques

Abstract : Interactionist models for second langue acquisition have tried to establish a causal relationship between interaction and second language development. These models have relied on NS-NNS interactions and remain to be tested in the context of electronic network interactions. To test these models, we elaborated communicative activities for 5 language classes (n=130) of intermediate French at the University of British Columbia to take place on WebCT electronic discussions. A questionnaire distributed at the end of the semester brings to light new relationships between interaction and language development related to fluency, accuracy and complexity. A modified interactionist model taking into account input, output and extended throughput is proposed to study interactions on electronic discussions.
