ALFALEX, un environnement d'aide à l'apprentissage lexical du français langue étrangère

Abstract : Alfalex is a learning environment for French as a second language (FSL). It consists of different types of exercises on ten specific features of words. Exercises are generated automatically by combining NLP-tools, electronic dictionary resources and a press corpus of 75 million words. By this means, the exercises can be constantly renewed and the correction can be very detailed. The
environment saves all answers of the users, allows to make exercises on previous errors and adapts the exercises to the level of the individual user. The user can also create his own personal dictionary. Statitstics and scores on all exercises are recorded for all users. This year, Alfalex has been tested by 2000 students of the University of Leuven.
