Internet aided courses in Mathematics for Engineers

Abstract

Learning at JCT requires at the same time synchronous and asynchronous learning. For some introductory courses in Mathematics for Engineering students, we built websites according to a triple function model "homepage-tutorial-mailing list". Availability, flexibility, multi-tasking and the possible usage of Computer Algebra Systems are among the advantages of this model. We describe and discuss the structure of the websites and the contribution of this supplementary materials towards teaching efficiency and towards students' learning skills.
