Exploitation pédagogique des différents médias
dans les systèmes d'apprentissage multimédias

Abstract : Contrary to what some people think, the various media do not all teach in the same way. A multimedia presentation can combine the respective advantages of various stimuli as long as the intrinsic features of each type of message are known. The nature of the stimulus, its novelty and complexity influence learning. If their particular capabilities are properly exploited, each type of message and each medium can be used in specific situations to benefit some students, complete certain tasks and achieve certain pedagogical objectives. The question of the choice and harmonious integration of the various media available is therefore one of the pivotal elements in the pedagogical design of multimedia learning systems.
