Abstract : We describe a tool-box of utilities for designing pedagogical dialogues, intended for specifying, compiling and executing reactive dialogue elements as well as tutoring strategies. It leads to an incremental and iterative development of courseware and allows an author to validate the conceptual faithfulness and the ergonomics of the student interface without programming. It produces tutorials with a better balance between planified tutoring and free exploration of micro-worlds. The architecture of the system makes the control of dialogue independent from the representation of the domain matter, and turns the prototype into a kernel for a generic tutor. We then discuss some perspectives for evolving the system into a generator for intelligent tutoring systems.
