Modélisation de l'intégration de ressources TAL pour l'apprentissage des langues : la plateforme MIRTO

Abstract : The following article focuses on the design of natural language processing tools (NLP) for computer-assisted language learning (CALL) systems. After an identification of limitations and discrepancies of CALL systems that are deprived of NLP components, we describe the general framework for the MIRTO project, a pedagogical activity authoring system, based on NLP tools, that is currently developed in our laboratory. This platform is organised according to four distinct layers: functions, scripts, activities and scenarios. With the help of several examples, we explain how the MIRTO architecture allows the use of usual NLP functions within scripts. These scripts can then be used, with no prior programming knowledge, to design didactic activities, themselves integrated within more complex sequences, scenario.
